TESCO has been inducting employees into a scheme were it it would appear it is subsequently difficult to recover those payments from LEGAL & GENERAL . It would appear the error is TESCO's in the event of any legal challenge this could be viewed as miselling . If an employee finds he or she is in such a position you may acquire futher information from the PENSION OMBUDSMAN  were you may make complaint
